| White Laced Red Cornish-Standard Chicken |
The Silver Pheasant is a large, hardy bird, disease resistant and
hardy in most climates. The hens lay a large, thick shelled
mauve colored egg.
A Silver Male has a long Blue/Black Crest, a Blue/Black chin and
throat with a glossy bluish back belly. The rest of the body is
white with many black lines, resembling chevrons. The tail
feathers are long with the central feathers being pure white and
the outside feathers being white with black chevron like
markings. They have very distinctive red face wattles and red
legs. Silvers will not achieve their beautiful, crisp plumage until
their second year. The first year males will have many
grey/brown feathers intermingled with the white, and will more
closely resemble the females.
Check with your local Wildlife Authorities to see if a permit is
required for pheasant or quail.
If you plan to release these birds into the wild you must check
with your local wildlife authorities prior to release.
We suggest a feed ration of 24% protein, and a handful of
Scratch and Greens daily.
